Barwon River bridge at WinchelseaWinchelsea, "Gateway to the Western District", is central to the productive region of Southwest Victoria, and this is where A Taste of the Region is based. We constantly seek new products to make available to you via our online store. Our makers create boutique, seasonal ranges. Their produce is ever-changing, and, in contrast to mass producers, we can neither make large quantities available or guarantee availability. Accordingly, our product range is excitingly varied and dynamic, changing from one month to the next. If you see it and you want it, you would be best advised to order it there and then!

The Southwest of Victoria, Australia, has a long history of farming and agricultural production. In the 21st century, there is a burgeoning wine industry alongside growing numbers of boutique and specialist gourmet food and beverage makers. A Taste of the Region aims to make the exquisite results of their efforts available to you

  • home-style cooking
  • full flavours
  • regional influences in style and ingredient and taste
  • most of all - great quality.

Would you like to try some special produce that you are not likely to find on your supermarket shelves?. Try A Taste of the Region for distinctive regional gourmet foods and beverages.

Producers and consumers everywhere are aware of the requirements of mass-market 'freshness' and 'naturalness' these days, but you will be delighted with the extra depth and vibrancy of taste imparted by our passionate and dedicated food, beer, and wine entusiasts who create the produce available from A Taste of the Region.

Centred in Winchelsea (twenty-five minutes west of the City of Greater Geelong on the Princes Highway, and an hour and a half west of Melbourne), we have the Surf Coast below with its world-famous Great Ocean Road. The Bellarine Peninsula is to our south-east, Moorabool Valley to our north-east, Lake Corangamite and its surrounding lakes to our west. With the goldfields with extensive farmlands to our north, we are surrounded by a variety of countryside and habitat producing diverse natural goods such as wines, olive oils, honeys, fruit, and all sorts of berries.

As well as making the best packaged produce of Southwest Victoria available to you for easy and convenient online purchase, A Taste of the Region also provides information on the region and our suppliers. The Great Ocean Road is a fabulous road trip, and just minutes inland there are more delights for the eyes and the palate. Many vineyards open cellar doors, particularly during the summer season, and berry farms offer pick-your-own experience with cafes/restaurants and cottage accommodation. There is plenty to do and see when visiting Southwest Victoria - consider exploring the regional producers and add another dimension to your itinerary.
